Is this for me?
If you are interested in Spanish current affairs, enjoy understanding what is happening in the country and like learning through real topics, probably yes.
You do not need to be an expert in politics or history. All that matters is curiosity and a willingness to participate.
Although there is no compulsory minimum level, the experience is usually much more enjoyable from B1 onwards, as we work with news, discussions, videos, opinions and authentic vocabulary.
Will I be able to communicate directly with Carla?
Yes. All members have access to the platform and community spaces, where you can ask questions, comment on content and share your opinions.
I cannot promise to reply in five minutes (I wish I had superpowers), but I will be present and participate actively in the community.
When can I cancel?
Whenever you like. There is no minimum commitment or strange obligation. If the membership no longer suits you, you can cancel without a problem.
If you can give me a couple of weeks’ notice, though, it will help me organise the groups, activities and resources much better.
Is this a Spanish course?
Not exactly. We do not follow a textbook or a fixed grammar syllabus here.
You will constantly learn Spanish through news, discussions, culture, current affairs, videos, expressions and real conversations about Spain.
How much time do I need each week?
As much as you like. You can simply read the weekly summary and look around the community, or explore the resources in depth, join discussions and attend live sessions.
There is no compulsory homework or pressure to follow a particular pace.
What topics are covered?
Everything that makes Spain what it is: current affairs, culture, recent history, society, customs, public figures, controversies, the media, humour, trends, everyday language and anything people are talking about.
Will I learn new expressions and vocabulary?
A great deal. One advantage of working with real content is that you will learn expressions, cultural references and ways of speaking that rarely appear in textbooks.
Can I participate if I do not live in Spain?
Of course. The membership is designed both for people living in Spain and for those who want to understand the country better from abroad.
In fact, people living far away are often the ones who most enjoy discovering these topics.
Are the materials recorded?
Yes. You can access the materials and resources whenever you have time, without having to join live.
Can I suggest topics?
Yes, and I would love you to. One of the main ideas behind España con Carla is to build a lively community, so members’ suggestions, questions and interests will play an important part in future content.
